Born 1996 in Berlin. 2020 Daniel started his directing studies at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and took part in an exchange programme at La Fémis in Paris.

In summer 2023 Daniel directed "Melodies of Barking Dogs", a story about a young man in a village pub who is trying to be true to himself, written by Nicola Jakobi, co-produced by ARTE and SWR. "Melodies of Barking Dogs" won the German Shortfilm Award in November 2024.

Working with sculptors, painters, dancers and musicians Daniel co-founded the multidisciplinary cultural platform RAUM, which includes a temporary exhibition of artworks and presentations from various artistic subjects. The short films Daniel has worked on so far have premiered at festivals such as Filmfestival Max Opfüls Preis, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen or Sarajevo Film Festival. 

Most recently, Daniel finished working on the 29-minute short film "Our Songs" and started editing his graduation film "Bärbel (WT)", based on 11 years of footage about his grandmother’s life with Alzheimer’s. Besides that, he is preparing his debut film "Josia (WT)", working again in collaboration with screenwriter Nicola Jakobi.
