Director / Writer
Growing up with his siblings in Berlin, Daniel spent his childhood in Germany, moving from the east to the west. After graduating from high school in Wiesbaden, he traveled through Europe for several years, ending up in Zurich, where he worked on the concept of the project "NO FEAR", which was realized in summer 2019 in Brandenburg. During the shooting, Daniel directed three actresses who improvised for three days non-stop, trying to find an answer to the question: what happens, if we don't stop playing?
In 2018, Daniel and his siblings founded the multidisciplinary cultural platform RAUM, which includes a temporary exhibition of artworks and presentations from various artistic subjects. 2020 Daniel started his directing studies at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and realised the short film "ZOE" with screenwriter Nicola Jakobi. He followed this up with a four-month exchange at La Fémis and produced a fictional short film in Paris 2022.
In summer 2023 Daniel realised "Melodies of Barking Dogs", a story about a young man in a village pub who is trying to be true to himself, written by Nicola Jakobi, co-produced by ARTE and SWR. Most recently, Daniel finished shooting a long-term documentary about dementia and started writing the script for the 25-minute short film "Our Songs (WT)".
